Visitor's Guide
Coming to meet the dogs?
Here's what helps.
Visits to Saldanha Animal Care are by arrangement. A quick WhatsApp means we can meet you at 197 Camp Road, show you around safely, and introduce you to the dogs who are ready for company.
Before you arrive
A few simple things that make visits smoother.
Arrange ahead
Visits work best when planned together. WhatsApp us before you come — we'll confirm a time when a volunteer can welcome you properly and show you around.
Come calm and patient
Rescue dogs can be shy, excited, or still settling in. Soft voices and slow movements help them feel safe around new people.
Kids are welcome — with guidance
Children are part of many forever homes. Please keep them close and ask a volunteer before approaching any dog.
Leave your own pets at home
Unless we've specifically arranged an introduction, please don't bring other animals onto the property.
What to expect
Honest, hands-on, and dog-first.
the place —
A working rescue, not a showroom
You'll see kennels, outdoor runs, and dogs at different stages of rehab. It's practical, a bit dusty, and full of heart.
the dogs —
Each one has a story
Some are ready to meet families; others need more time. Volunteers will steer you toward dogs who are ready for visitors that day.
the visit —
No pressure to adopt on the spot
Come to look, ask questions, and get a feel for who we are. If a dog steals your heart, we'll walk you through the adoption steps.
