About us

A small crew, a big bay, and a lot of dogs to help.

Saldanha Animal Care is a volunteer-run NPO committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals in the Saldanha Bay area. We focus on sterilization, education, and giving every animal a second chance.

There's no big office and no long donor list. Just a handful of neighbours who kept saying yes when the next call came in — and eventually made it official.

What we actually do

Five stops on the same trail.

01
Stop
answer the call —

Rescue

Strays, surrenders, roadside emergencies. If we can get there, we go.

02
Stop
patch up —

Rehabilitate

Vets, meds, feeding schedules, and time. Often weeks of quiet work before a dog is ready to be seen by a family.

03
Stop
place carefully —

Rehome

Home checks, contracts, follow-ups. We'd rather wait months for the right home than rush the wrong one.

04
Stop
stop the cycle —

Sterilise

Sterilisation is the single most effective thing we do. Every adoption includes it or the funds towards it.

05
Stop
teach the next generation —

Educate

Kind, informal community education so the next generation of dog owners knows what responsible care actually looks like.

Volunteer-run — and proud of it

This isn't a limitation. It's the whole point.

Every rand we raise goes further because there's no salaried overhead. Every dog is known personally by the volunteers who fostered them. When you contact us, you're talking to the same people doing the pickups and the vet runs.
